Brian ” Professer B ” Davis staff writer- This just in Tim Lincecum wins the National League Cy Young award for the second year in a row. Lincecum edged out St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright despite the fact that Lincecum got fewer first-place votes than Wainwright in the vote proceeded by the Baseball Writer’s Association of America announced today. Lincecum finished the 2009 campaign with a (15-7,2.48 ERA with 261 strikeouts) received 11 first-place votes and 100 points. Lincecum becomes the first pitcher to win back to back Cy Young awards since Randy Johnson did that with the Arizona Diamonbacks by winning four Cy Young Awards from 1999-2002. Also Lincecum led the National League with strikeouts becoming the first Giant to accomplish that feat since Christy Mathewson did back in 1907-08 seasons.
The Giants ace also started the mid-season classic in St. Louis also led the National League with 26 quality starts with 26 while ranking second in ERA and tied teammate Matt Cain for the National League with for complete games.

I can’t believe Wainright didn’t win. Perhaps GM’s and Managers should vote on this stuff instead of biased writers.
