Brian ” ProfesserB ” Davis Staff Writer: In baseball hot stove news free agnet outfielder Jason Bay has passed his physical and will be introduced to the media at Citi Field Monday. The 31 year old reached in principal on a $66 million. The deal will also includes vesting an option that may increase Bay’s payout to $80 million for the next five years.
In other baseball news the Baseball Hall of Fame will announce the class of 2010 and the possible canidate is 12 time All Star Roberto Alomar. Alomar who played from 1988-2004 in the majors played in 2,379 games played, 9,073 at-bats, .300 career average, 210 homers, 1,134 RBI’s and compiled a 443% slugging & .371% on base percentage.
And Bert Byeleven who pitched in the big leagues for 23 seasons from 1970-1992. In his career Byeleven compiled a carrer 287-250 record with a 3.31 ERA started 685 games and pitched 497 innings with 242 complete games with 3,701 strikeouts. Byeleven will need the requiered 75% minimum by the veterans commitee to get in and Byeleven also was on two World Series winners with the “We are Family” Pittsburgh Pirates in 1979 and with the Minnesota Twins in 1987. Byeleven final fours years was with the California Angels.

I am thinking that Bert B will finally get his induction this year after the great showing of his Netherlands team during the 2009 World Baseball classic.
I honestly think Roberto Alomar might be in the 2012 class as some people still have not forgotten the spitting incident with the umpire while he was with the Baltimore Orioles.
Mark McGwire will get close to 50%, but miss his chance this season.
But the fun part will be how many votes Fred “Crime Dog” McGriff and Seattle DH Edgar Martinez get.
I think both could also get the call in 2010, or 2011.
